Police officers in Fort Worth, Texas, described the rescue of a 15-month-old baby girl who was trapped under an overturned car following a major crash. Sergeant Ryan Nichols and Officer Edwin Bounds, with the help of bystanders, managed to move the vehicle and pull the child out, administering CPR until she showed signs of life. 

The baby, who sustained a fractured skull, and the driver are both expected to recover. Officers credited the quick actions of Good Samaritans at the scene, saying the rescue would not have been possible without their help.

Where he and Officer Edwin Bounds rallied bystanders to move an overturned vehicle so they could try and save the baby girl trapped beneath it. He said, I think there's a baby under the car, we need to move this car. And that's all I needed to hear. Keep moving, keep moving, keep moving. That's Sergeant Nichols' hand pulling the 15-month-old out and administering CPR. There was no life, she wasn't moving, so we're just trying to revive her somehow. We see you doing the compressions. What are you looking for? Any signs of reaction. She starts making noises, but I didn't take it as breathing. Everyone ready? There it is, come on. Come on, baby. Keep working. But then, nearly a minute later. Yes, there you go, yes. It was just a relief that, you can't describe it. I thought she was dead, and then she's not. Could you have done this without the Good Samaritans who pulled over? No way, no way. I'm so glad that there were that many people out there that day.
