Authorities in Flagler County, Florida, have arrested a woman accused of impersonating a nurse and treating thousands of patients over several years. Although she obtained a nursing degree, officials state she never earned a license and used another employee's identity to secure her position at a hospital.

The woman, identified as Autumn Bardissa, was hired in July 2023 and claimed a different last name due to marriage, but failed to provide a marriage certificate when requested. Her deception was uncovered during a promotion review, leading to her dismissal in January. Bardissa now faces 14 charges, including practicing without a license and identity theft.

The hospital says that they questioned her about having a different last name. She said, well, I just got married. So they congratulated her on getting married, asked her to provide a copy of the marriage certificate, which she never did. Investigators say that the staff realized that she never confirmed the marriage when she was up for a recent promotion. She ended up being fired in January. She's now facing a total of 14 charges related to practicing without a license and the use of another person's identity without consent.
