The reported margin of victory for Trump in North Carolina is 2.7 percent, larger than his previous win against Joe Biden in 2020. Vice President Kamala Harris had been actively campaigning in the state, underscoring its importance to Democrats and expressing optimism about their chances of winning. Trump also placed significant focus on North Carolina, visiting multiple times in the lead-up to the election.

According to surveys conducted by the Associated Press, the economic outlook and immigration were especially important issues for North Carolina voters, topics where Trump is perceived as strong. The survey indicated that a considerable segment of unaffiliated voters, who have seen a 33 percent increase in recent times, appeared to favor Trump, contributing to his victory in the state.

All right, let's get to North Carolina now. Phil Lavelle, our reporter, is in Raleigh, which is the state capitol. So, Phil, it has been called for the Republicans. What's the mood there? Yeah, I mean, Kamala Harris appears to have lost by 2.7 percent. That seems to be the margin that Donald Trump is at least projected to win by in this state, which actually is way larger than the margin he won against Joe Biden in 2020. Now, this was something that had provided the Democrats with hope. They had seen this as such a tight margin when it was Donald Trump versus Joe Biden. And they had obviously thought that this would be a chance for them to turn the state blue. And they poured a lot of resources into this state to try to flip it blue. In the end, it looks like that has not worked. You know, the fact that Kamala Harris has been coming to North Carolina, she was here on Wednesday and she said that she thought they could win this state. Donald Trump clearly was concerned because he was spending more and more time here. He was here four times in the last week. He said just yesterday, I have never lost North Carolina and I have no intention of starting now. And it's clear that by putting all of that extra effort in, this has managed to increase that voter turnout, as the Republicans had hoped. You know, there are so many things that are playing into the decisions here. The main thing on people's minds here, according to the AP, which conducted a survey of people in North Carolina, was the economy, right? Forty two percent of people said that was what would drive them, their big issues when they went to the polls on Election Day. Nineteen percent said immigration. Those are two things that Donald Trump is very strong on. Only 11 percent said that they would be concerned with issues around abortion. And of course, that is Kamala Harris' big policy. She has spoken a lot about reproductive rights. She was even here the other day talking about it. So it seems that the voters really kind of gravitated towards those issues. The big question was where the unaffiliated voters would go. Unaffiliated voters have shot up by 33 percent in this state. That is people who have no party affiliation, could go either way. It appears that the majority have gone Donald Trump's way. Phil, thank you very much for that.
