No let up in Gaza war despite U.N. ceasefire resolution

A UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was small consolation to the displaced Gazans in Rafa. We hope that this time Israel will implement it, because every time they tell us, on Friday, on Saturday, there will be a ceasefire and there isn't. By God, we're fed up of blood spilling and death and martyrs and destruction. This has gone on for six months and everything is the same. Israel doesn't care about UN Security Council resolutions, the General Assembly, the International Court of Justice. It defies the whole international community. Israel continued its airstrikes in Khan Younis, southern Gaza City and Rafa on Monday, as well as its ongoing offensives on various hospitals in Gaza City and Khan Younis, hospitals Israel say have become Hamas bases. Residents who live near al-Shifa Hospital have described corpses in the street and constant bombardment. And as aid lorries enter Gaza at only 30 percent of pre-war levels, very little reaches the north of the Strip, and those remaining in Gaza City risk their lives to procure meagre amounts of food from airdrops. The situation is tragic, no food, no water. It's a famine. What can we do? They mock us by giving us this small can of tuna. People are dying just to get a can of tuna that doesn't even cost a quarter. Civilians have already been killed in airdrop operations, while a third of the Strip's population is on the brink of famine.
