Surveillance footage released by the FBI offers new perspectives on the attacker, including images of him and a homemade bomb contained in a cooler. As the aftermath continues to unfold, local council members are scrutinizing the security measures taken on the night of the attack amidst several prominent annual celebrations.

New Orleans rebounds as FBI shifts focus to ISIS

Tourists bustle down Bourbon Street past a makeshift memorial for one of the victims of the New Year's terror attack. A few blocks away where police killed the terror suspect in a shootout. A fresh coat of paint and almost no sign of the violence that ripped through this historic party street. It's business as usual. It has to be. You know you can never live in fear. That's always my motto. No fear but criticism for how the city handled security on one of the biggest nights of the year. Especially with everything going on the Sugar Bowl, New Year's Eve. You should have done a little extra measures for that in my opinion. As the city council investigates its shortcomings that night the coroner's office says it has now identified all but one of the 14 victims. The FBI released new surveillance images of the man behind the attack and a cooler which contained one of his homemade bombs. Its focus largely shifted to Texas where he lived and was evidently radicalized by ISIS. One of his former army buddies shocked. Super normal individual. No red flags, no politic talks, no religion talks. It was just you know shoot the crap kind of guy. Many others were equally surprised by how quickly Bourbon Street bounced back after the attack. But not Jennifer Jones known as the dancing lady. That's not who we are. You do not shut us down. That's the New Orleans spirit. We do not bow down to nobody, nowhere, no type. I live just across the street. It's no disrespect to the dead, locals say. But you know New Orleans is a city that you know it blends with tragedy and hardships with revelry and good times and it's just been the history of this city. They won't forget what happened here but they also want to move forward. We want the city to get back to what 99 percent of it is known for which is letting the good times roll.
