President Trump, alongside First Lady Melania Trump, signed an executive order to enhance support for youth transitioning out of the foster care system. The initiative, named Fostering the Future, aims to connect government agencies, private companies, higher education institutions, and nonprofits to create pathways for education and employment.

The order provides technology-based scholarships, expands access to training and federal grants, and encourages public and private commitments for job opportunities. The initiative is part of the First Lady's broader Be Best campaign and builds on previous efforts, including securing additional funding and designating a month to foster youth awareness.

And Haley, how's the President's executive order going to help children in the nation's foster care system? Well, Del, it's multifaceted, and the First Lady telling the audience as she unveiled this executive order to, quote, rise above the ease of an action. And she described the goal of this as establishing a network connecting the government, private sector, higher education, and nonprofits to create opportunities for the thousands of foster youth who age out of the system every year. Now, the executive order signed by President Trump will provide technology-based scholarships for higher education. It seeks to expand access to education, workforce training, and technology, and in particular, establishes a program to secure government and private commitments for pathways for education and employment. It also ups the access to education and training vouchers as well as federal grants. A number of agencies having key roles as part of the broader initiative, including Health and Human Services, HUD, leading the way with roundtables. They tell us they will hold with foster youth as well as a pathways program for federal jobs through the Office of Personnel Management. The president describing its impact like this. Under this major new initiative, great American companies and institutions will be signing a pledge to invest in teaching, training, and mentoring America's youth who are transitioning out of the foster care system. This will help provide jobs, education, and personal development opportunities to fantastic young people who truly need and deserve them. And now, as you mentioned, this is part of the First Lady's broader Be Best initiative. It has also been a focus for her and the administration. Earlier in the year, the president declared a month for foster youth in May. The First Lady also secured funding to help aid foster youth through budget bills earlier in the year. The First Lady also put her name on that executive order after the president signed it, as foster youth families who have been involved in the efforts and other nonprofit organizations, foster youth organizations, looked on Dell.
