Members of the Muslim community gathered Monday at the Clifton Mosque for a training session and prayer service as they continue to advocate for the release of Imam Ayman Soliman from ICE detention.

The Muslim community in Cincinnati, along with supporters, gathered at the Clifton Mosque for a prayer service and a 'know your rights' training session. The event was organized in response to the detention of Imam Amin Solomon, whose asylum status, granted in 2018, was recently revoked. Solomon's attorney claims the revocation was based on a misinterpretation of evidence by immigration authorities. 

Solomon's detention has led to multiple vigils and protests, including one that resulted in several arrests. The community event also included information on constitutional rights for all individuals, regardless of immigration status. Solomon is scheduled for a virtual federal immigration hearing, with a bond hearing and a status update on an order temporarily preventing his removal from Ohio.

This group is hoping for the release of a mom aiming Solomon from the Butler County Jail. Solomon was recently detained by ice months after his asylum status, which he was granted in 2018, was revoked. His attorney says the government made a mistake that the basis for the termination was was not proper. The asylum officer that made that determination did so with misconstrued some of the evidence that he relied on. He or she relied on Solomon's detention, sparking multiple vigils. And even protest, one which spilled over onto the Roebling Bridge last week, leading to multiple individuals being arrested by Covington police. The training Monday presented by Ignite Peace walked attendees through their rights when encountering officials enforcing immigration law. Everybody on US soil, regardless of immigration status is protected by the rights in our Constitution. Tuesday, Solomon is set to appear virtually before federal immigration judge in Cleveland. This week, his bond hearing on the 24th. Solomon is due for a status hearing on the order that temporarily barred immigration officials from removing Solomon from the state of Ohio. And what?
