Elon Musk's xAI has partnered with Saudi Arabia and AI startup Humane on a 500-megawatt project involving Nvidia technology. The first phase of the project will deliver approximately 18,000 GPUs to Humane, with further GPU commitments expected to be announced. 

This collaboration is significant as it marks a new involvement for xAI and Musk, while the overall project was initially announced in May. The initiative is seen as a way for Nvidia to offset lost business from China by expanding partnerships with sovereign nations such as Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

Let's bring in Christina Karsanevela. She's here. She obviously covers NVIDIA and the chip sector. But more on what we heard, this deal from Saudi Arabia, Christina, and how it sets us up for earnings. Well, I'd like to preface that this collaboration between Humane, the AI startup in Saudi Arabia, and NVIDIA is not new. The 500 megawatts they first announced on May 13th, you can check on NVIDIA's website. The first phase of that project would bring about 18,000 GPUs to Humane, which is, again, a startup over there. So I'm waiting. Within the next few minutes, we should get an announcement on the next leg of how many more GPUs Humane is committing to. And that could be seen as a positive, because sovereign AI could fill that hole where China once was. China used to be up to 20 percent of NVIDIA's earnings. We know that now it's zero. It's not factored into any models. And so these announcements with sovereign nations, you know, AI startups around the globe, South Korea, this in this case, Saudi Arabia, could be seen as a strength because it'll fill in where China used to be. So, again, I'd like to reiterate that that 500 megawatts, which could house up to 750,000 homes. I mean, David Faber and I spoke about that yesterday, the number. But overall, it's not new. That amount is not new. XAI's participation, Elon Musk's participation with Humane is new. And so we should be getting a new GPU number in the coming moments on NVIDIA's blog.
