Leon S. Kennedy is now officially confirmed for Resident Evil: Requiem, but don't expect just a simple cameo from him. Capcom developers have clarified how much of the game will be from Leon's POV, and just like his first outing in RE2, it looks like about half the game will have you playing as him.

Capcom has released new details about Resident Evil: Requiem, confirming that players will split their time almost equally between returning character Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft. The game's director, Akifumi Nakanishi, described the experience as two contrasting gameplay styles, with Leon's sections serving as a release from Grace's more horror-focused segments. A GameStop listing hinted that Rosemary Winters may also appear in the game, which is set for release on February 27th.

In other news, Claire Obscure Expedition 33 won nine out of eleven nominations at the Game Awards, including Game of the Year, and Sandfall Interactive announced free DLC available immediately. Universal Orlando Resort also launched a new docu-series following a family's visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, aiming to bring the magic of the books to life.

Kennedy is returning to Resident Evil, the game's developers are clarifying just how much of the game you'll spend as the floppy-haired favorite. Speaking with Automaton, game director Akifumi Nakanishi revealed that Requiem features nearly identical screen time between Leon and new character Grace Ashcroft. Nakanishi said, quote, in terms of gameplay, Grace and Leon's playable sections are almost equally split. It's almost like having two games with completely different types of tension mixed together. Early on, we worried players might not be able to keep up, but now we feel that the contrast gives the game a unique rhythm, like jumping into a cold bath after sitting in a hot sauna. Nakanishi went on to describe Leon's sections as a release after playing as the less experienced Grace whose sections appear to lean more into the horror aspects of Resident Evil. Nakanishi said, quote, the battle this time will probably push Leon to his limits more than ever before, and this is a crucial part of the experience. He's the type who doesn't hesitate to sacrifice himself to save others, but he's not arrogant about it. And he has a passionate inner self. I hope you'll also look forward to the dry wit and subtle sarcasm that only an older guy can bring. So now we have two confirmed characters for Resident Evil Requiem, but the series is known for surprising fans with more playable characters. A recent GameStop listing strongly hinted that Rosemary Winters, daughter of RE7 and 8's Ethan Winters, will also be making an appearance. We'll know for sure when Requiem drops on February 27th next year. Claire Obscure Expedition 33 was the big winner at last night's Game Awards, taking home 9 out of 11 of its nominations, including Game of the Year. After the big win, developers from Sandfall Interactive took the stage and announced that the previously revealed DLC is available, right now, for free. News of the DLC first dropped in October, but no release date was given at the time. The DLC would include a new dungeon, new enemies, new bosses, new language options, new music, new costumes, and even more surprises. The team also dropped a new Thank You trailer for the game's fans, who have catapulted the French-made JRPG into gaming history. Not only is this Sandfall's first game, but it's now the most nominated and most awarded game in TGA history. Its 13 noms and 9 wins beat The Last of Us Part II's 11 noms and 7 wins set back in 2020.
