Authorities used canines and drones during the search, which took place around the Alton Green apartment homes. The family and community expressed gratitude for the collective efforts that led to the boy's safe recovery.

This was a code red alert where they brought in canines and also brought put up drones and you just learned that they have found this little boy safe. Tell me what you're hearing there. Yeah, Jacqueline, you're touching on it right there, but this was really an all hands effort out here. We were at the Alton Green apartment homes like you mentioned off of East Florida Ave and just within the last 10 minutes we got that very good news that they did find that 11 year old boy Skyler Meyer. I'm joined now by the captain of the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol, Peter. Peter, not many people know about your agency. I would say, but talk to me about who you are and why you were out here today. Yeah, so we are Arapahoe Rescue Patrol. We are the search and rescue team for Arapahoe and Elbert counties, and we were out here today looking for an 11 year old male who is just a missing party who went for a walk. So these are the kind of calls that we go on here on our own agencies or anywhere throughout the state of Colorado. We work missing persons and other search and rescue efforts in the state. Your agency is really unique in the fact that you all are students. Is that correct? Can you explain exactly how you work? Yes, ma'am. Yeah, so Arapahoe Rescue Patrol is comprised completely of high school students from around the Littleton area. Mostly so we're pretty unique. We're the only one in the state that is. All of our fielded members are members of the high school district. Members of the high school. We know that the family is so grateful that you all were out here today, as well as the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and again, a lot of community effort as well. We talked briefly with a woman who showed up here. She just saw the post on Facebook, came out to try to help find that boy who again is now safe and reunited with his family.
