A large protest took place in London's Parliament Square, where hundreds gathered to support Palestine Action, a group recently banned and designated as a terrorist organisation by the government. Police responded by arresting numerous participants, citing their support for the proscribed group as the reason for the detentions.

Palestine Action has denied the government's classification, describing itself as a direct action group. Despite the ban, supporters continued to demonstrate, highlighting ongoing controversy and public disagreement over the government's decision.

This is the biggest action to have taken place, to put that prescription to the test, that ban that made Palestine action into a terrorist organisation. As you can see here, we've got dozens of people here who've turned up right in the middle of Parliament Square, each of them with their signs. Now we had expected certainly hundreds of people to turn up here, but this is certainly sizably larger than the other actions that have taken place in other Saturdays here. But police have already started to come in here and start arresting people simply for showing their support for the banned group Palestine Action. It is an issue which has caused immense controversy here. Palestine Action have refuted the accusation that they are a terrorist organisation. They said they are a direct action group. The government disagrees, and that's why the ban went into place last month.
