A Mercedes-Benz was set alight in a suspected arson attack in Kingsgrove, NSW, at approximately 4am. Residents attempted to contain the fire, but it quickly spread and threatened a nearby duplex, prompting a family of four, including a woman in a wheelchair, to escape safely.

Authorities are treating the incident as suspicious, with investigators examining the scene for clues and questioning tenants and neighbors. The family was assessed for smoke inhalation and found unharmed, while the damaged vehicle is set to be scrapped.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and the initial indications and the burn patterns and the fire behaviour are indicating that this fire is probably a deliberate action. Fire investigators have closely examined this scene to see if the suspected arsonist left any traceable clues, while police look to find who sent this message and who it was really for. The tenants questioned, neighbours too, in the hope of finding the perpetrators. While the vehicle at the centre of it all, destined for the wreckers.
