For Renee Nicole good, this is the first of several scheduled protests in the Kansas City Metro after the recent fatal shooting in Minneapolis. There's more than 100 people out here in front of City Hall with one main message to keep ice out of Kansas City. From coast to coast, taking up space, reminding the world and our leaders that a lot of people are very angry. Cities across the United States are speaking up against ice operations. There is a basic lack of empathy throughout our community and we need to speak up for what is right. Signs and solidarity with Renee Nicole good woman killed in Minnesota who lived in the Metro just eight months ago. It feels like she is like a part of Kansas City for the nearly 200 protesters here. Knowing Renee has ties to Casey hits closer to home. This strikes at Missouri. It strikes at Kansas City and it strikes at what it is to be an American who's three three. Dozens shared personal stories of their interactions with ice and why they want federal agents to stay out of Kansas City when you allow stuff to happen someplace.
