It was a lengthy press conference yesterday I was listening and listening thinking they're gonna wrap up They were just sharing all kinds of evidence and of course, you know Wait when when you're standing up there the FBI is sharing evidence and it seems irrefutable You never know as these things go when you get to trial they could you know blow that out of the water But but the agents investigating they were deconstructing machines and showing the alleged operation in great detail Do they have the evidence here your take? Yeah, absolutely, yeah, you don't really have the FBI director standing up and giving a press conference if they don't feel extremely confident Evidence So, I'm sure the FBI has a very very tight pace especially when you Like this what's figures the FBI and the Department of Justice You know don't don't You know shoot first and ask questions later with regard to investigations like this, so I think that The investigation is very tight as director Patel said they'll be following the money I think what's interesting is he said this is just the tip of the iceberg and as your reporter stated This is probably going to be expanded into other other areas of professional sports like Perhaps maybe the NFL Or or other league Yeah, just jaw-dropping really when you watch that briefing yesterday. I want to ask you about the latest your point these big names You're always careful and you get your facts, right? when you're when you're talking about, you know, bringing charges against people with deep deep pockets and You know, they're gonna be up against huge law firms in this So this news that came out that a friend was leaking information about the health of LeBron James This is the type of thing you build a case on and at the end of the day you build the case on the victims Do you not you put the faces of the victims the gamblers, but nonetheless the victims in this that's what that's what will be presented Yeah, absolutely, you know and and many of these people I'm sure are not wealthy people. These are everyday Men and women who are working hard trying to make ends meet and Whether you make the choice to gamble with your heart or money That's kind of a first decision, but obviously these are people that don't have a tremendous, you know in most cases Don't have Means and don't have money to waste, you know again whether they should be gambling with that money is a different question but I think individuals like that will be very sympathetic to a jury and of course, I think the main prosecutorial Tool in this is going to be the Rico charge like I said before I think DOJ is Has a very tight case and I think these defendants are gonna have a very difficult time This disproving the criminal allegations. I want to talk to you about this Explosion of gambling apps, you know, my son went into a School he was visiting and there were kids in the corridor gambling while a teacher was teaching, you know placing bets In the back corner and just a couple of minutes one had made five bucks, you know What is the impact these apps have on? Feeding the next generation maybe in this case you see, you know, cheating is working for some ultimately they got busted here But your thoughts on the connection of these apps and really feeding the next generation and their hearts Yeah, I think the gambling apps I mean, I suppose you could draw an analogy between the gambling apps and sort of the gateway drugs that we talked about in terms of narcotics use and abuse And I think it I don't think it's a good thing for kids. I don't think it's a good thing for Our society as a whole. I think people they work hard for the money They should respect it more than just to trust the fates so to speak With with the outcome. Oh, I think it's teaching kids really bad habits It doesn't apply, you know in every case but organized crime has played a part in the gambling arena for a very very long time and your reporter talked about you know, and you've talked about not hearing about the LCN Organizations like the Gambino family and other families for a long time. The Bureau has been very effective at taking those crime families apart But I think this might be sort of an effect of the Biden administration's lack of focus on on actual criminal violations and chasing around J6 defendants and engaging in politicized Investigations and I think cash Patel has done a very good job turning things around Former FBI special agent John Nance.
