A video broadcast on Palestinian television showed an Israeli army reservist in civilian clothing driving a vehicle into a Palestinian man, Majdi Abu Mukho, who was praying by a roadside in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli military confirmed the driver's status as a reservist, terminated his service, and confiscated his weapon following the incident, which occurred near the village of Deir Jarir.

Majdi Abu Mukho was taken to a hospital but was not injured and was sent home. Israeli media reported that the reservist was placed under house arrest. The United Nations has recorded a rise in violence in the West Bank, with over 750 injuries and more than 1,000 Palestinians killed between October 2023 and October 2025, mostly in security operations and some by settler violence.

The Israeli military said the man driving the off-road vehicle in the Thursday attack was an army reservist. It said his military service had been terminated and his weapon confiscated. The man struck Majdi Abu Mukho went to the hospital after the attack, but was unhurt and sent home. His father told Reuters the family was returning to the village of Deir Jarir when they encountered a roadblock. We waited for hours so we can cross with other people. While waiting, it was the time for prayer. My son decided to get out of the car and pray. He went to pray and I was waiting in the car. Suddenly we saw a settler in a tractor. He deliberately rammed my son and he attacked me and he sprayed pepper gas towards me. The Israeli military said the reservist acted, quote, in severe violation of his authority. Israeli media reported that he was being held under house arrest. The Israeli police did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Reuters confirmed the location in the video as Deir Jarir from the road layout, utility pole and shape of the hill which matched satellite imagery of the area. The location was also confirmed by Reuters reports on the ground. This here was one of the most violent on record for Israeli civilian attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, according to United Nations data that shows more than 750 injuries. More than 1,000 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank between October 7, 2023 and October 17, 2025, mostly in operations by security forces and some by settler violence, according to the UN.

Some of the stabbed victims remain in serious condition. A 38-year-old man was arrested for alleged attempted murder at the factory, authorities said.
