This latest funding is intended to help Ethiopia address its balance of payments and budgetary requirements, raising the total IMF disbursement under the program to more than $2.18 billion.

According to the IMF, Ethiopia's economy is performing better than previously anticipated, with notable improvements in economic growth, export levels, revenue collection, and foreign reserves. Inflation in the country is also reported to be easing.
