Brayden Allen, a 21-year-old from Stansbury Park, is funding his education at Brigham Young University by painting house numbers on curbs throughout several Utah cities. Allen started this initiative at age 16 after noticing faded curb numbers in his neighborhood and has since painted over 100 curbs in one summer.

His goal is to raise $6,000 to cover his tuition, and he has nearly reached this amount. Beyond the financial benefit, Allen highlights the importance of his work for emergency and delivery drivers, especially in areas where house numbers are hard to see. He also values the sense of community the job brings and is grateful for the lessons learned through his efforts.

He says the community has come together to help him reach his goal this year. 21 year old Brayden Allen from Stansbury Park is using a can of spray paint to help pay his way through college. One curb at a time. I was kind of thinking about ways to earn money. I was kind of looking around and I saw that some of the houses had faded house numbers painted on their curbs. That sparked an idea when he was just 16. Now he's painted over 100 curbs this summer alone. Almost raised enough money to finish paying for this school year, which is awesome. His goal, $6,000, enough to cover tuition at BYU. Doing the curbs is awesome because it helps all the delivery drivers and all the emergency drivers especially. Because a lot of these streets, when they're dark, it's almost impossible to see the house numbers. He's painted curbs all over from Tula to Farmington to Kaysville and cities beyond that. Well, it's really helpful because Kaysville has a lot of older areas. There's a possibility that maybe the houses were never put on the house numbers or maybe there's a possibility that the house numbers have degraded. For Brayden, it's not just about the money. It's about the people. I do love just the community feel of it. Moment of reveal. Brayden has around 50 more curbs to go before he hits his goal, and he says he's sticking with it.
