So in this week's road trip close to home, meet more than 30 horses who are enjoying a second chance at life and experience the love, patience and compassion they have for humans. New Swells Lori Golias and Aaron Miles takes us to Wilton. It really is a magic place. Good things happen here. This is Rising Star Horse Rescue in Wilton, CT. We started in 2015, so Rising Star rescues, rehabilitates, retrains and rehomes America's at-risk horses. This is our latest rescue. Hi, little man. We usually rescue on average about 35 horses a year. This is Denali. Hi, Denali. Hi, Denali. Denali is very sweet. We are open to the public. Come see some horses. One of our volunteers, junior board or staff members are happy to take you on a tour, see us working and training horses, get to meet the horses and find out why horses in America are at risk and what you can do to help them. So we have volunteering. Volunteers need to be five years old or above with a parent until they're 13. You don't have to have any experience. We'll teach you anything you want to know. We also have riding lessons, trail rides. Yeah. Horses work on energy, your emotions, your feelings. Right. They are very calming. They actually, it's a proven fact that they help lower your heart rate. They're so intuitive. We have some miniature horses, and these are very special miniature horses. They help us with our equine assisted services program. They were in New York City at 9-11. They were both rescued, and now they help rescue people. I wish I could say we could save them all. We can't. That goes back to all of our programs and our education. More people we can educate and then they can educate. We're hoping to make a difference that way.
