The U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has stated that the Food and Drug Administration will conduct a new review of abortion pills, according to ABC News. This review may result in restrictions on abortion medications, such as Mifepristone, which is currently used in nearly two-thirds of all abortions across the country.

Republican lawmakers have been urging the Trump administration to alter FDA regulations regarding Mifepristone. Abortion rights advocates warn that any new restrictions could further limit abortion access, particularly in states where the procedure is already banned.
