Weather systems are expected to move across the Great Lakes, resulting in continued lake-effect snowfall for much of the region. Areas including western Michigan, the Upper Peninsula, parts of Ontario, and the corridor from Buffalo to Erie are forecast to receive significant snowfall, which may help erase current snow deficits.

The snowfall is expected to persist until the lakes freeze over, with a new system potentially bringing additional accumulation to regions such as Burlington and Albany. Some locations, including the Tug Hill Plateau, could see well over a foot of snow from the upcoming event.
