Critics call it sports washing, like the Olympics in China or the Men's World Cup in Qatar used to soften the image of an autocratic regime. Now some of that same criticism is spilling over to the Masters. If one or two or three of the live golfers are in contention, it could legitimize the live golf tour. That's why it's really fascinating to see who performs well in Toronto at a course newly reopened for the season. The pro tour drama is providing fodder between holes. Competition is good and they have good players to if anything this year's Masters might have more intrigue and more prestige. Now you have two competing professional leagues. When Brooks Koepka wrapped up the first round tied for the lead, broadcasters pointedly avoided mentioning he's with Liv. 65 for Brooks Koepka who won four majors in less than two years.
