The team moves from neighborhood to neighborhood, offering food, medical check-ups, and protection to animals left behind as services and infrastructure deteriorate.

With many veterinary clinics destroyed and supplies scarce, both pet owners and veterinarians face significant challenges. Despite overwhelming needs, the volunteers continue their efforts, seeing each animal they help as a testament to the enduring compassion in Gaza.

Today we organized an initiative for animal caretakers and household cat owners to support them and provide a free check-up for their cats to make sure they're healthy and everything is fine. We also gave them dry food. For Elafa Bourizig, this visit is more than a routine check-up. It's an effort to ensure that the hardship she once lived through with a beloved pet is never repeated. As Gaza's services collapse, pet owners are turning to young volunteers for help. They are stepping in where no support remains. Volunteers say their work is not only about feeding cats. It's about protecting life itself. Today we are at Animal Care Group. We are announcing a new event on Gaza City for pet cat owners to help them take care of their cats and give them the best support. And every day we witness they all suffer silent suffering on the street. The challenges are even greater for Gaza's few remaining veterinarians. Many clinics have been destroyed, leaving some to continue treating animals in partially collapsed spaces. I had two clinics. One was destroyed and the other was partly damaged. That's the one we're in now. I fixed it so we could keep working. During the war and after it, our biggest challenge was that no food or medicine was allowed in, even for animals. As evening settles over Gaza, the team finishes their rounds. The needs are overwhelming. But for these volunteers, every life they save is a promise that compassion still survives in Gaza.
