I'm your Ozonki County reporter Alex Kahl in Cedarburg, and to be clear, this is past Alex. I don't exactly know when this story is going to air, but I know that it's going to, and I found out about it here. You see this banner? Learn to Curl? Well, I'm intrigued. So given the Winter Olympics are only about two months away, what's a reporter to do except call these folks and pop up to their club a couple days later? So here it is, the Milwaukee Curling Club. Well, it's actually the other way, if we flip the camera around. See? There it is. I met up with Neil at the Ozonki County Fairgrounds, where this complex is located. This is one of the best facilities in the region. Neil Daisy would know. I've been curling for 67 years now. And not just for fun. The Olympics of 2006 was probably the highlight. Yes, this lifelong Wisconsinite is the former coach for the USA Women's Olympic Curling Team. There's a lot more strategy. Curling has changed so much. Balance is the key. That's a pro tip right there. If you're new to the sport, curling is kind of like bocce ball. You score points by having your stones closest to the target, or the button. Shot making, relying on the skip's ability to call the correct shots. Okay, quick aside here. I love sports. That of course includes American sports like football. And soccer. The other kind of football. And cricket. You should really be watching the Ashes, by the way. They'll thank me later. And as you can probably tell, I've tried all of those sports out before. But despite loving curling, I've never tried it out. Wait. That's the wrong kind of broom. Okay, surely the second time will... Oh. Okay, attempt three. I've got the training wheels on now. Anyone can curl. At my age, I'm still curling two days a week. The qualifying event for the Olympics, just started in the USA, is taking part. You may have noticed Brian McIllis in the background. He's the president here. There's very competitive, very physically fit both men's and women's teams. So what to learn from this?
