The FBI has released new information regarding the recent shooting at a Dallas ICE processing facility. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the shooter, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Yan, engaged in extensive pre-attack planning, including researching ICE agents, downloading documents on DHS facilities, and mimicking tactics seen in a previous high-profile shooting. Yan killed one person in ICE custody and critically wounded two others before taking his own life as law enforcement approached.

Investigators are examining Yan's devices and materials collected from locations linked to him to better understand his motives and the extent of his planning. As a result of the incident, all immigration check-ins at the facility have been postponed, and authorities are expected to provide further updates as the investigation continues.

Well, FBI Director Kash Patel says the 29-year-old who shot up the Dallas ICE facility yesterday carried out a high degree of pre-attack planning. No agents were hurt, but one person in ICE custody was killed and two were shot and critically wounded. That shooter, Joshua Yan, took his own life as law enforcement closed in on him. Fox 4's Sean Rabb joins us in studio with what the FBI director posted to social media this morning. Sean. Yeah, Hannah, and Tuesday we heard Dallas FBI Special Agent in Charge Joe Rothrock called this a targeted attack. Now we know more based on what we've learned today from FBI Director Kash Patel. The man who indiscriminately opened fire on that ICE processing facility began plotting the shooting as far back as August and apparently mimicked what he saw in the shooting of conservative political figure Charlie Kirk. One day after the shooting at the Dallas ICE processing facility that killed one person, wounding two, we are learning more about the plan. The 29-year-old Joshua Yan, who took his own life after his violence, put in place. From FBI Director Kash Patel in a post on X, Patel says the shooter downloaded a document titled Dallas County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management containing a list of DHS facilities that he conducted multiple searches of ballistics and the Charlie Kirk shot video the day before and the day of the shooting. And in August he searched apps that tracked the presence of ICE agents and reportedly left handwritten notes. One of them said to read, hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror to think is there a sniper with AP rounds on that roof. I spoke with former US Attorney for North Texas Paul Coggins about what we learned in this tweet. Definitely a fair amount of planning, a fair amount of research, a fair amount of hostility toward ICE agents. That's surfacing from what the FBI director is releasing. Federal law enforcement, particularly the Department of Justice, needs to be focusing on international terrorism and domestic terrorism and find out what motivates each of those different attacks on our country. And of the two, between international terrorism and domestic terrorism, the one that scares me more, domestic terrorism. And so we have to sort of dig into what motivates these people, whether they're on the left, whether they're on the right, to take these kind of actions. Joshua Yon's devices, data being explored right now, as well as items taken from addresses connected to him during search warrants being executed in Fairview up in Collin County and in Durant, Oklahoma. As the investigation turns now to when, where, how, and why did he become radical in his thinking. Those questions certainly won't be all answered today, but we will learn more.
