After a severe crash left his girlfriend and son with devastating injuries, Michael Askins is searching for the bystanders who performed CPR and saved his 7-year-old son's life.

A serious car crash on Columbia Parkway in Cincinnati left Michael Askins, his girlfriend Johnny Evans, and his seven-year-old son Michael with severe injuries. Police reported that the car crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle, resulting in significant trauma for all occupants. Two bystanders quickly intervened, pulling the young boy from the vehicle and administering CPR when they found he was not breathing. 

Both Michael and Johnny were taken to hospital with critical injuries, but the boy's condition stabilized, which his father attributes to the life-saving efforts of the bystanders. Askins is now hoping to identify and thank the individuals who helped his son. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family's recovery.

I was just thinking the worst. Askins says two bystanders pulled his son from the car and quickly realized he wasn't breathing. They immediately began administering CPR. Both Michael and Johnny were taken to Cincinnati Children's with devastating injuries. Johnny sustained a broken hip, knee, ankle, femur and shoulder, but Michaels were even worse. He lost a lot of blood. His injuries include three spinal fractures, a lacerated abdominal aorta, the removal of most of his small intestine and brain swelling. And when I first seen him. All the tubes in him and all the blood all over him took a toll on me, but somehow he's now stable. Askin says in large part because of the men who performed CPR on his son, he doesn't know who they are, but hopes one day he can thank them in person. It wasn't for you. My son wanted. He wouldn't be here at all fighting through what he's fighting right now. So thank you. Now he's hoping both of his loved ones can pull through. I need them way more than they need me.
