Turkey further criticized Israel for blocking international humanitarian aid intended for Palestinians, warning of the risk of famine. Egypt, which has been involved in mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas, has so far seen no lasting resolution to the conflict.

As the international community sends aid, Israel is pursuing a policy aimed at preventing this aid from entering, with the goal of forcing Palestinians into a state of near starvation to the point that they abandon their land voluntarily. We need to speak about this openly. Israel's objective is to de-Palestinize Gaza. It seeks to transform Gaza into a place where Palestinians do not live, where it can settle its own permanent settler's occupation. Meanwhile, Egypt has been among the countries attempting to mediate in the conflict between Israel and Hamas for several months already, but with no durable results so far.

At least 200 protesters have been arrested at a rally showing solidarity for Palestinians in Gaza, outside the Parliament in London. Crowds are also demonstrating against a ban on the Palestine Action group, after it was designated as a terrorist organisation.
