In another match, the Gold Coast Suns edged closer to the top four after defeating Carlton at Marvel Stadium. Ben King led the Suns with a career-high six goals, helping his team secure a 19-point victory despite a late surge from the Blues.

Youngster Murphy Reid slotted a goal of the year contender. Skipper Alex Pearce, he was thrown forward late and plucked a huge grab before going back to kick just his ninth career goal. Really proud of the way we adapted to the way the game was played and what the game needed but yeah we just had a we probably had our worst 20 minutes or 15 minutes of footy we played for a long time in that second quarter. The Suns are just a win outside the top four after beating the Blues at Marvel Stadium. Ben King bagged a career-high six goals and almost hit the roof. He doesn't get beaten in contests, brings the ball to ground for our smalls he's had a wonderful year. It's pretty good wasn't it yeah I'm biased I suppose. The Blues kicked five goals to none in the final term but it wasn't enough the Suns holding on by 19 points.
