Australians living with kidney disease now have access to a life-changing online tool. The digital hub launched in Melbourne aims to help more patients navigate their diagnosis and take control of their kidney health.

Comedian and actor Stephen Curry has joined efforts to raise awareness about kidney disease, supporting the launch of Kidney Health for Life. The new digital hub provides a centralised source of information and personalised support for Australians affected by kidney disease, a condition that impacts an estimated 2.7 million people in the country, many of whom are unaware of their risk.

Kidney Health for Life offers tailored pathways for users, helping them navigate their health journey and access evidence-based resources. The initiative, developed over four years, is free to use and aims to reduce feelings of isolation among those diagnosed, as well as encourage at-risk individuals to seek medical advice.

His dear friend Lesley Tozer was diagnosed in 2010. Today they were celebrating the launch of Kidney Health for Life, a helping hand for those on their kidney disease journey. You feel so isolated and alone and I wish that I'd had this myself personally when I was first diagnosed with kidney disease. It's incredible there hasn't been an initiative like Kidney Health for Life before. But the fact that it's here now is something that we're so proud of and we're so keen to see succeed. All you have to do is join and answer a couple of questions. A personalised pathway is then developed that can be updated over time to support a person's changing needs and health goals. Kidney Health for Life is a great initiative. It gives you access to information for whatever part of the journey you're on. This is a resource for all those people who felt lost and isolated when they were diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. So it gives them a central place to come where there's evidence based information that they can trust. Of the 2.7 million Australians living with signs of kidney disease, most don't know they're affected. The new digital hub can also provide information to those yet to be diagnosed. Understand their risk and actually go and talk to their GP to understand what they need to do to get a kidney health check. And then they can come back to Kidney Health for Life.
