Closing arguments have commenced in the federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs in New York City. Prosecutors are summarizing the evidence from 34 witnesses, focusing on charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and drug distribution. 

The prosecution argued that Combs led an enterprise with a common purpose to serve him, citing testimony and specific incidents such as alleged drug distribution and an arson attempt involving rapper Kid Cudi's vehicle. While some evidence is circumstantial, prosecutors contend that the accumulation of incidents supports the charges. The trial now awaits a verdict following these final arguments.

All right, closing arguments are now underway in the federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial of Sean Diddy Combs in New York City. CBS News legal reporter Katrina Kaufman is live outside the New York City courthouse. Katrina, thank you for your time today. I know there's a lot going on, but what have you heard so far today? So the prosecution is delivering their closing arguments, and they are bringing together all of these charges, going piece by piece through the elements that they have to prove for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. And with racketeering, they need to show that Combs was at the head of all of this. So basically, they explained to the jury that the enterprise here has to be a group of people who came together with a common purpose to serve the defendant. And they brought up this quote that came up towards the beginning of the trial, where someone said that it's Sean Combs' kingdom, and everyone was there to serve him. So they're really just trying to break down all of this testimony that we've heard over many, many weeks from 34 witnesses, and go through each potential underlying predicate act for this racketeering conspiracy charge. And what the prosecution said is that even just the drug distribution charges alone could be enough. There just has to be two acts. This could be two instances of someone distributing drugs. And they also said it can be a small amount. It can be for personal use, just Combs giving those drugs to a girlfriend. Or they brought up when he had Jane, one of his ex-girlfriends, pick up a package. There was some communication behind the scenes, paying for that drugs from his security to the drug dealer. And then she brought those drugs to Miami. This happened on two occasions. The prosecution says that that alone could get them the racketeering conspiracy charge as a guilty charge here. They also brought up, I mean, they've been going through all of these. But one that I found interesting was this allegation of arson. This relates to Scott Mescady, also known as the rapper Kid Cudi. And while there isn't direct evidence tying Sean Combs to this Molotov cocktail that was put into Scott Mescady's Porsche at his house, she just went through all of the pieces of this and how it just can't be a coincidence that Sean Combs told Cassie Ventura, his girlfriend at that time, that he was going to blow up Scott Mescady's car in his driveway, that he'd be out of town. He wanted his friends to see. She then sent an email to her mother where she mentioned these threats. And then just coincidentally, the prosecution said that same Porsche that Scott Mescady drove ended up having a Molotov cocktail put in it that set fire that equates to arson. And another tie-in is that there was an alleged break-in at Scott Mescady's house, that there's a Combs car that was linked to his company right outside Scott Mescady had driven by in that Porsche. So she's just showing the jury that there are all of these little elements. And even if there isn't this concrete thing bringing Sean Combs to the scene of that alleged crime, there's just too much here to be a coincidence. All right, Katrina Kaufman, thank you so much.
