Weather conditions are expected to cause significant disruptions for air travelers across the United States during the Christmas travel period. Strong winds and a major weather system are likely to impact major airport hubs, especially in the Midwest, with delays anticipated to spread to the Northeast.

Currently, there are no reported delays, but issues are expected to develop as the day progresses, affecting airports such as Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit. The Northeast is expected to experience the most severe travel disruptions the following day, with winds posing a greater threat than precipitation.

you're going to be on a plane. It is going to be quite bumpy for us in the coming days across the country. Right now, no delays, of course, it's still early in the day. As we head later in the day, though, big time problems are going to start developing, especially into parts of the Midwest. But the real issue here is, is that there's going to be a lot of hubs that are going to be impacted today and tomorrow. So we will have that domino effect down to a lot of the airports. Notice Minneapolis. It says some Chicago, some today. And then everything is going to be shifting into the Northeast as we head into tomorrow. So let's have a look at some of the turbulence reports. And right now we don't have any. It's still very, very early, but we are going to get, I think, several as we head through the day as this big system, you see that big dip, that jet going down and coming back up. That's just what's happening in the upper levels. Of course, you have the surface winds as well that are going to be problematic for us as flights are trying to take off. In fact, you could have clear skies. But when those winds are howling, that can cause a lot of issues for our airports right now. No problems here into the Midwest. But look at the winds as we head through the day today. So I think we are going to have major issues not only in the Midwest, but across the country, because you've got a lot of flights coming through Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, all of these areas. We do have light rain and snow. But again, I think the winds are going to be the bigger issue than the actual precip coming down today in the Northeast. You're fine. But I'm telling you, tomorrow is going to be a nightmare travel day in the Northeast, Jim, and any flights that are trying to get in and out of this area.
