Chloe Cole, a woman who detransitioned after receiving gender-affirming treatments as a minor, discussed her reaction to the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for minors. Cole described the ruling as a significant victory for those advocating for restrictions on such treatments, emphasizing her belief in the need to protect children from irreversible medical interventions.

Cole recounted her own experience, beginning her transition at age 12 and undergoing medical treatments and surgery before deciding to detransition. She credited lawmakers and justices for listening to stories like hers and called for continued efforts to reinforce parental rights and informed consent, as well as legal action against providers of gender-affirming care to minors.

Chloe Cole joins us right now, and forgive me, Chloe, this was happening as in your childhood, I think I was a little bit flip in the characterization. No disrespect, Chloe Cole, massive respect for your advocacy and what you did there. How do you feel about this victory? I mean, I think that it's absolutely a massive victory in this movement to protect our children from this transgender abuse that is happening in our hospital systems. It's determined that these bans against the breast and genital amputations, the chemical castration with use of puberty blockers and the cross-sex hormones, that they're all constitutional in all of these states that have passed them. And unfortunately, it doesn't affect states that have not already passed those laws yet, but it makes it so that they can't be struck down in court. And I think that it's going to lead to a lot more states passing protections for the children of their constituents. Can you tell us a little bit about when this process started for you? I have a note here, the transition process started when you were 11 or 12? Yes, I was 12 years old when I started to call myself a boy, when I started being affirmed first by psychologists, and then eventually I was put on the medical pathway at 13 years old by affirming physicians who put me on puberty blockers using a chemical castration drug called Lupron to suppress my puberty, weekly injections of testosterone, and at 15 years old, I underwent an irreversible surgery to remove my breasts. My goodness gracious, forgive me, but how old are you now? I'm 20 years old. It's been five years since I've had the surgery, and it's been four years since I stopped the transition process, which was a decision that I made because I realized not only that I regretted all these treatments, but also because one day I wanted to get married, I wanted to become a wife, I wanted to become a mother and have children naturally, and that this way of life and these treatments were potentially taking that all of that away from me and disrupting my health completely. When this started, when you were 12, was the idea yours? Did society advocate it? Did you see it in a cartoon? Did your parents bring it up? I mean, or was this something that came from within? I mean, I'd always been more on the tomboyish side, but I didn't believe that I was actually a boy until I learned about transgenderism from social media, and I needed a role model like myself, a woman who was different while also standing for reality, and my mom and dad had told me they never, ever would have said yes to this. They never would have said yes if they had learned of a single story like mine, and I mean, we have to give credit where it's due to these lawmakers and these justices, to the attorney general for listening to the stories of people like me who have been hurt by these treatments and choosing to do the right thing. And there are places, I believe Minnesota, Tim Walz, I mean, they certainly flirted if they didn't totally embrace, no parental consent required. You needed it, correct? But there are scenarios where they think it's somehow protecting the children to not inform the parents. Which is just completely ridiculous, because then you're putting the responsibility completely on the child, which if children can't legally consent to things that arguably are much less consequential things like buying cigarettes, buying alcohol, entering into legally binding contracts, then they can't consent to something that is going to alter the rest of the course of their life and affect their developments psychologically, socially, physically, and of course, reproductively. No child knows that one day they may want to have children or enter into a relationship until, really, they become adults and they get to experience all of those things. And things like this are exactly why we need to continue moving forward. This is just the end of the beginning of this movement. And once we are done celebrating this victory, we have to move on to continuing to reinforce the rights of parents, the rights to informed consent for both parents and their children, protecting children's rights to grow up with their bodies fully intact, and eventually taking action legally against these providers, against these hospital systems, these clinics that once pledged to do no harm but have harmed children in the name of gender-affirming care. And I actually have a lawsuit of my own that I'm working with the Center for American Liberty on, and it's going to take firms like Center for American Liberty to eventually take this industry down and hold these irresponsible excuses of doctors accountable. Well, you're a hero in my book. To be continued, Chloe Cole, just amazing. And I can't believe you're just 20, you know, in all this life.
