In the heart of Gaza, the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen as economic collapse and widespread hunger push many families into desperate situations. Among the consequences is the growing number of children who are forced to work in the streets to help support their families.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has intensified, with many families facing severe shortages of food and clean water. As a result, an increasing number of children, some as young as six, are working as street vendors to help support their families. 

The ongoing conflict has led to significant loss of life, with over 17,000 children killed and 33,000 wounded. The United Nations has called for an end to the violence and for immediate humanitarian aid to reach civilians. Despite these appeals, only limited aid is entering Gaza, and distribution remains dangerous and insufficient.

Most of Gaza's children have fled their homes with their families. They have faced violence, lost relatives, faced hunger and disease. Some children are now working as street vendors to try and cope with the lack of everything starting with food and clean water. Sometimes as young as six, they earn very little but hope to help their families. There's no water, no food. We have to work just to barely bring something home for the family. A bit of bread, a little food. There's no work in Gaza. We should be in school, not in the streets. There is no food, no water. We are starving. We are forced to work because we cannot afford anything. Life is hard and everything is expensive. They have all known some of the victims killed in 21 months of war and bombings. More than 17,000 children have been killed, an average of one classroom full of children every day. 33,000 have been wounded. The UN has appealed to both parties, Israel and Hamas, to end the violence, release the hostages and immediately allow aid, food, clean water and medicine to reach civilians where they are. Child hunger has surged across the territory. Only a fraction of what is needed enters the enclave and even that aid does not reach the population. Rare distribution points are described by humanitarians and Gazans as death traps.
