So, fingers crossed, I will have New Year at home in the UK. Many were looking for alternative routes. My plan B, I'm actually taking a train here to Amsterdam, Skiffel, to the centre. I'll enjoy a day here in Amsterdam and then I shall stay till 9 o'clock tomorrow and then fly back to Luton Airport, London. Train services through the Channel Tunnel started to resume slowly on Tuesday afternoon, but Eurostar was still advising passengers to book alternative dates. At Brussels' Midi station, two trains previously thought to be cancelled were in fact running. Each train carrying around 500 passengers was filled to capacity with travellers whose earlier services were cancelled, but not everyone could check in.
