The incident occurred as Robinson was walking back to his hotel with his brother-in-law near a local intersection. Police responded to the scene and pronounced Robinson dead, confirming it was a drive-by shooting. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect or determined a motive for the shooting. Local residents expressed shock at the event, describing the community as typically quiet and safe. Canadian officials have been contacted regarding the incident, but no response has been reported.

Police say the shooting happened right here on Monroe St in downtown Sheboygan Falls, leaving neighbors shocked police looking for the person who did this and a family in Canada devastated, quiet, safe and friendly. Everybody is friendly. I don't. I'm pretty. I'm shocked. I don't really know what to say for neighbors like Melody Walls. The news of a deadly shooting in downtown Sheboygan Falls is unbelievable. I was pretty shocked. I mean, this is a small little community and we're all really close, so it just really shocked me. Police say they responded just after midnight Wednesday and found a man who had been shot in a drive by shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene that man's family telling me today that his name is Giovanni Michael Robinson, known to many as Mike, and that he was a new father visiting the area from Canada on a golf trip. His family shared this photo with me. Showing Mike just yesterday, celebrating his first ever hole in one at a nearby golf course. His family now devastated and looking for answers and so are police who say they have not identified a suspect or a motive. TMJ4 has reached out to Canadian officials, but we have not yet heard back about their possible involvement in this investigation. I spoke to a bartender at Falls Tap who tells me Mike was a customer Tuesday night before he was shot. He said Mike and his group were kind and that there were no issues.
