A Florida-based attorney has filed over 30 lawsuits against Roblox, alleging the platform fails to adequately protect children from online predators. One lawsuit details the case of a 13-year-old boy from Cuyahoga County who was targeted and manipulated by an adult posing as a child on the platform.

The lawsuit also claims Roblox hosts inappropriate user-generated content and accuses the company of long-standing awareness of these risks. In response, Roblox announced a new tool requiring facial age estimation to restrict chat features to users of similar ages, emphasizing that child safety is a top priority.

Sarah Beller is a florida based attorney whose firm has filed over 30 lawsuits against Roblox, including this one over its failure to protect its young users. They're not doing enough about it to fix the overall problem that they created this tool that they created that caters to pedophiles. The lawsuit says a 13 year old Cuyahoga County boy was targeted on Roblox by a predator who posed as a child. After gaining the boy's trust, Sarah says the predator sent the boy graphic messages and sexually explicit images. And of course he ended up unfortunately manipulating the young boy into sending explicit images of himself as well by threatening to physically harm both the boy and his family if he did not comply with those demands to do so. The lawsuit details similar cases where Children were exploited and abused by sexual predators who posed his Children on the app. But that's not all users can also create content. The lawsuit says Roblox hosted over 600 quote Diddy games which appear to recreate incidents involving music mogul Sean Combs who was convicted of sexually related crimes this summer. They know that there are pedophiles on the platform. They know this is a pervasive issue. They've known that for years. In a statement, a Roblox spokesperson wrote that protecting Children is our top priority. Tuesday, Roblox announced a new tool to keep kids safer. Users will soon have to complete a facial age estimation from the camera on their devices. Roblox will scan users images, estimate their ages and only allow kids to chat with kids who are similar ages. So if you're not freaked out yet, you know, I don't know why because I'm freaked out. What should parents do? Talk to your kids about the risks, monitor screen time, activate parental controls on their devices and set up your own Roblox account.
