Protests broke out in both Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis. Homeland Security officials stated that the agent acted in self-defense, alleging Good attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon against law enforcement. 

Bystander video of the incident has circulated widely, prompting public outcry and demonstrations against ICE and the Trump administration. The FBI and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the shooting, while local and state leaders have called for ICE to leave Minnesota. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has defended the agent's actions and stated that ICE operations will continue.

And that shooting sparking protests both in Minneapolis and here at home in D.C. Fox 5's Shamari Stone joins us live now from Southwest tonight with more on reaction to that shooting. Show. Well, tonight, protesters are angry at ICE and the Trump administration after seeing the graphic video of the agent opening fire. What do we need? Community control! What do we need? Community control! Tonight, dozens of people protesting against ICE outside of the agency's headquarters in Southwest D.C., demonstrating against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Trump administration. It comes after the ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good this morning in Minneapolis. Federal officials say the agent acted in self-defense, claiming Good was a rioter who used her SUV as a weapon to try and run over law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them. Protesters say that's not true and that the shooting was not justified. We believe that they are actively looking for ways to murder people. And so we think that, you know, we want to build, you know, the resistance in the streets because we have not seen sufficient fight back from our elected officials here in D.C. In Minneapolis, thousands marched demanding ICE leave the city and stop immigration enforcement operations. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the shooting was justified. It was an act of domestic terrorism. They were attempting to push out their vehicle and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle. An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to protect himself and the people around him. Now, Minnesota leaders, including Governor Tim Walz, are calling on ICE to leave the state. However, Secretary Noem says ICE operations will continue without pause. I'm Shamari Stone. Back to you.
