The club pointed to poor league performance and instability as reasons for the change, while Postecoglou expressed gratitude to his players and staff in his farewell statement.

But brother, with a 46% win ratio since we hired him, he could have been married to Daniel Levy's sister and they still would have sacked him. Costa Coglu was severely hamstrung by a horrendous injury toll, but Tottenham have hit the reset button, wanting fresh air after the club's league form imploded. Apart from the football, there was absolutely dreadful. He was surly. He called out the fans in public. You don't do that. But a football club at that level needs stability. It needs calmness and it needs the ability to focus only on one thing, which is winning football matches. And the last six months at Tottenham has been a little bit of a circus. Can't take away the memories or his huge slice of Hotspur's history. And wherever Ange goes next, he'll get at least a two-year deal because... I don't usually win things.
