A chilling 911 call has been released in the case of Rebekah Baptiste, a 10-year-old girl who died three days after being found unresponsive in Apache County.

Authorities have released the 911 call made as 10-year-old Rebecca Baptiste was being transported from her remote desert home in Apache County, Arizona. Rebecca was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and later died at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Her father, Richard Baptiste, and his girlfriend, Anecia Woods, have been charged with first degree murder and multiple counts of child abuse. 

Prosecutors allege that Rebecca's death resulted from long-term abuse, with injuries so severe they left her brain dead. School staff reported concerns to child safety authorities, but only one report in the past year met the threshold for investigation. Rebecca's school is holding a celebration of life ceremony in her memory.

Um, we went to the whole book. It's a whole book. Thank you. The 911 calls leading up to 10 year old Rebecca Baptiste getting medical attention are brief, but they paint a picture of the final moments before E. M. S. Found her as a woman tells the dispatcher. Baptiste is unconscious on their drive to the hospital. My daughter, she's with us. We live out in the desert and we're calling the whole road trip to the station. At the time of the call, Baptiste was living on a remote desert property with her father, Richard Baptiste and his girlfriend, Anecia Woods, who are now charged with first degree murder in her death and three counts of child abuse. The woman on the phone mentions Baptiste running away multiple times. She's ran away for the third time in a week in the desert. And when the neighbor found her in the wash, she was unresponsive completely. She just ran away. This is like the third time now, and she still hasn't even like really bounced back for the first time. But when the neighbor found her said that she was just just almost gassy. By the time she got back to the house, barely breathing. So I'm waiting for her now. You got unresponsive, unconscious, unable to breathe herself. The woman claims to be giving Baptiste mouth to mouth in the car. Is she breathing? I'm waiting for her. At one point, the operator asks if the woman knows CPR to which she says this. Yes, I do. Unfortunately, she also asks the dispatcher if they should head straight to the hospital. Would it be easier if we just to which she is told to wait for E. M. S. To come and start CPR. I understand that. I need you to pull over. So you have E. M. S. Me too. The call ends as sirens approach. Police records show the 10 year old was taken to Little Colorado Medical Center in Holbrook before being flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital, where she died three days later. Prosecutors say it was a quote long term horrendous abuse that caused Baptiste death with brain bleeding so severe it left her brain dead. In court records indicate this was not the first time Baptiste needed care for these types of injuries. Staff at her school empower college prep say she was a bright, eager to learn student who won many awards. They told Fox 10 they made multiple calls to the Arizona Department of Child Safety. D. C. S. told us reports must meet a specific threshold to be investigated, and that only one call in the last year met that requirement. Empower College Prep is having a celebration of life ceremony for Rebecca at one p.m. On August 14th, they're asking anyone attending to wear magenta in studio. Taylor words, Fox 10 News.
