The first officer was shot in the leg while responding to a domestic dispute on Taylor Road, and the second officer was shot in the rear near Euclid Avenue by the Townhouse Motel. Authorities have closed streets and increased police presence as they continue searching for a suspect and gathering evidence. The situation remains under investigation, with a press briefing scheduled for further updates.

This morning we are tracking breaking news out of East Cleveland. Hello everybody. I'm Mike Brookbank and I'm john Kausik in for Tiffany. The city's mayor confirms to East Cleveland police officers have been shot at two separate scenes. It's all happening as officers responded to a domestic incident at a home in the area. Are Mike Holden joins us live from University Hospitals this morning where those officers are being treated. Mike, we've had team coverage on this all night long. What are we learning at last check guys. We now know according to the East Cleveland mayor that those two East Cleveland police officers were rushed right here to University Hospitals behind me. They are in stable condition after they were both shot responding to two separate crime scenes. And as we're live on air a little after six o'clock this morning, I'm now corresponding with photo journalist Mike Harris who's flying over that location in East Cleveland. So from air tracker five, he just reported that terrace, that particular street is completely closed in both directions. We are talking at least 100 police officers swarming that area, searching for a suspect and trying to gather additional information. In the meantime, let's take you back out to that scene. Come close to your tv and take a look at this huge police response. You can certainly see all the flashing lights right now. Our overnight news tracker followed East Cleveland and Cleveland police as they swarmed this East Cleveland neighborhood and shut things down. They were initially called to the 1900 block of Taylor just before 11 o'clock last night. That initial call was for some sort of domestic argument at a home there. According to East Cleveland Mayor Lateek Shabazz, an officer was shot in the leg while responding. That officer was rushed to U. H. The mayor says the officer is expected to survive. We're now working to confirm if anyone else was shot at the initial home where that domestic dispute was reported. Then take a look at this roughly two hours later and right around the block from that initial shooting site. Our overnight news tracker captured police and ambulances rushing to this location. Now this is technically Euclid Avenue right by townhouse motel. We spotted armored SWAT vehicles, officers in tactical gear, all with their guns drawn running toward the incident. East Cleveland's mayor confirms this is where a second East Cleveland officer was shot. That officer was shot in the rear while responding to the scene. They two were expected to survive. Now we want to stress this morning. This is a developing situation and we know East Cleveland police and dozens of officers are still in that area trying to gather additional evidence and really trying to track down a suspect in this evolving situation.
