A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed at Rouse Hill Park in Castle Hill, New South Wales. Police report that the incident occurred after the victim encountered a group of teenagers known to him, including the accused, who allegedly stabbed him following a brief conversation. 

A 15-year-old has been charged with murder after surrendering to authorities and allegedly admitting to the stabbing during a court hearing. Despite efforts from bystanders and paramedics, the victim could not be saved. Police are investigating the possibility of an attempted robbery, while the community remains deeply affected by the tragedy.

An arrest has been made, but that doesn't take away at this point how horrifying that death is and how that community is in mourning today. I have no other words, but it's just tragedy and it's senseless. It was around 4pm yesterday. The 17-year-old victim ran into another group of teenagers known to him, including the accused, who was wearing a balaclava and hood. There was a conversation. Police say a knife was pulled. Within minutes, one of the teenagers was dead. There is some suggestion that there may have been an attempt to robbery, to rob the victim, but that is still being explored further. The scene, traumatic. Four women, strangers, turned good Samaritans who witnessed the stabbing rushed to help, but their bravery and the extensive efforts of paramedics, were not enough to save the young victim. This is a popular park for teenagers, close to two schools and a busy shopping centre. It's also a hotspot for trouble, according to some residents who say they've seen violence here and evidence of drug use. It's been quite a few years that this has been going on. I have seen once that was just, like, punching, and it was boys just fighting, and I didn't think it would take this far.
