The jury reached its verdict after more than two days of deliberations, convicting Tilford of torturing and killing her girlfriend, Conchetta Morton, as well as sexually abusing two others and concealing Morton's body.

Tilford showed no reaction as the verdict was read, while the victim's family and friends became emotional in court. Prosecutors have announced they will seek the maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. This marks the first time the district attorney's office has secured a conviction on a torture murder charge.
