The FBI has disclosed new information regarding the attack on a synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, stating that the perpetrator, Ayman Ghazali, was inspired by the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Ghazali crashed his pickup truck, which was loaded with fireworks and gasoline, into the synagogue's early childhood education area, but none of the 150 children or staff were harmed.

Investigators found that Ghazali had made a video before the attack expressing his intent to target the Jewish community, and his social media activity promoted Hezbollah's ideology. The FBI also noted Ghazali's family ties to Hezbollah, including a brother who was reportedly a commander killed in Lebanon. The attack ended after an exchange of gunfire with security, after which Ghazali took his own life.
