Under the new agreement, star players can now earn at least $1.4 million annually, up from $250,000, while the minimum salary rises from $66,000 to $300,000. The average salary will also quadruple to $600,000. Leaders in the league and analysts have praised the deal as a major step forward for women's sports, with the new season set to begin on May 8.
