Several rounds of rain and thunderstorms are expected to impact a large portion of the United States, stretching from Texas through Illinois and into the Northeast. The storms are forecast to bring both beneficial rainfall to drought-stricken areas, especially in Texas and the Southern Plains, and the risk of severe weather including damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Three distinct storm systems will move through the region over the week, with the first affecting areas from Oklahoma City to Buffalo and Pittsburgh, and a moderate risk for severe storms in the upper Midwest. Additional storms are expected midweek and into the weekend, with impacts including flooding downpours and further severe weather threats.
