Although some trade negotiations have resulted in lower effective tariff rates, especially with China, Walmart indicated these changes are not sufficient to offset the upward price pressure expected later in the year. The effects of tariffs have not yet fully materialized in consumer prices, but Walmart and industry observers suggest that changes may become more apparent in the coming months.
