While President Trump took the oath of office inside the U.S. Capitol on Monday, many of his supporters from across the country came to Washington, D.C. to celebrate. After the president delivered his inaugural address, they expressed their expectations for his second term.

President Trump's inauguration ceremony took place inside the U.S. Capitol, where his supporters, many of whom traveled to Washington, D.C., gathered to celebrate the event. While the initial plan was to host the ceremony outdoors on the National Mall, unforeseen weather conditions required a relocation indoors. This did not dampen the spirits of supporters who gathered at various local venues to watch the proceedings and listen to the inaugural address. 

Among the attendees was Ken Fitzpatrick, a business owner who leases campaign buses to political parties. Despite his initial plans to participate in the traditional parade along Pennsylvania Avenue, Fitzpatrick and others found solace in being able to celebrate within their communities. The predominantly conservative gathering comprised many members of the Log Cabin Republicans, a national LGBT group known for their engagement in politics.

The group expressed continued support for President Trump despite questions about his stance on LGBT issues. John and Dan Madora, a married couple, were vocal about their alliance with Trump, highlighting that they were wed at Mar-a-Lago with his encouragement. Andrew Minnick, president of the D.C. chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans, acknowledged Trump's ability to connect with a diverse demographic, including those not traditionally aligned with the GOP. Supporters remain hopeful that the President will continue to foster a new level of acceptance within political discourse.
