His lyrics reflect his experiences with discrimination, poverty, and exclusion, and he uses his art to assert his identity as both Greek and African.

Since his debut in 2012, Negros Toumoria has gained significant popularity, with international recognition following a 2017 performance in Germany and the release of his eighth album in 2025. Despite facing criticism from far-right groups for his cultural expression, he continues to empower second- and third-generation immigrants in Greece and inspire a new generation through his music.
