This funding will support staffing, capital works, and security enhancements, including the refurbishment of the Rybie Juvenile Justice Centre in Western Sydney, the only facility in NSW focused on young women.

The upgrades include new bathroom facilities, 85 additional beds, CCTV cameras, X-ray body scanners, and expanded incident response teams. The initiative aims to improve safety for both young people and staff, address anti-social behaviour, and reduce the amount of contraband entering youth centres, following reports of over 230 contraband items detected statewide.
