Florida investigators successfully thwarted a bomb plot targeting MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa after discovering an improvised explosive device outside the visitor's center. The device, planted on March 10, did not detonate and was found by the FBI six days later, leading to a swift investigation.

Authorities identified siblings Alan Zhang and Ann Marie Zhang as the primary suspects. Ann Zhang is in U.S. custody facing charges, while her brother remains a fugitive. A third individual, Jonathan Elder, was also arrested for making threats but is not believed to be connected to the siblings. The suspects' mother is currently in ICE custody following a search of their home.
