DeSantis criticized the judge who allowed the release and called for her impeachment, stating that the tragedy could have been prevented if the law had been in place. Missy’s family attended the signing and expressed their support for further action against the judge. The Florida House holds the authority to remove judges, and a response from the House Speaker is pending.
